Liverpool have already started making a move for Gareth Barry, Arsenal have already lost Matthieu Flamini to Italian giants AC Milan and Chelsea have already been linked to…well, just about everyone.
If there is one thing that is absolutely certain it’s that there is no saying who will end up where during the transfer window. If Liverpool are going to launch a serious challenge they need to buy a full back or two and a wide midfielder who can match the quality of Gerrard even when played out of position. Likewise if Arsenal are going to threaten, not only do they need their squad to mature but they need to add a few more players of a slightly more direct nature to it.
Chelsea’s apparent interest in Ramos is interesting, £50m for the Spanish full back is a ridiculously inflated price, and it seems almost as if certain media outlets invent these rumours from thin air when they have nothing better to do. No manager, Chief Executive, or Chairman in their right mind would pay that much money for a player in the current climate. Of course, there is no guarantee that Abramovich is in his right mind.
Man United will continue on the route they have followed so far; they will sign youthful, energetic players, and continue to phase out the likes of Scholes and Giggs, who, whilst they have been unbelievable servants to the club, are slowly reaching the end of their career.
The opening of the transfer window is a fascinating time of the year, the clubs jockey for position and the fans read the papers with the enthusiastic hope that their team will have secured the services of a superstar. Money will change hands on online betting sites as to who will spend the most money (a competition that one would imagine Chelsea will win) and similarly money will change hands on who will win the league as people try to work out the impact of the summer signings.
Ultimately, this game plays itself out every year and nothing ever really changes, football betting with Blue Square suggests that United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool will be at the top end, in which order, is a case of money, talent, and not a small amount of luck.
